Drying consistency
Washed beans are washed and dried relatively quickly after fermentation, which makes for consistent batches. It is one of the reasons that they're favored for blending. How to Taste the Difference at Home
The gold standard is cupping, which is the SCA's formal protocol for evaluating coffee.
Firstly, take three coffee beans from the same origin, same variety, same roast level but processed by different methods. Then brew coffee under same water temperature. Let them sit four minutes, break the crust, smell, then slurp at the ten-minute mark.
And here is another way: brew the same pour-over recipe three times in a row — washed, honey, natural — keeping same grind size, water-to-powder ratio, and water temperature. This way is not as good as cupping, but it is perfect for daily life.

The specialty coffee has been obsessed with naturals and anaerobic fermentation recently. But there's no the best processing method, only the one fits your taste.
If you love clean, bright acidity, washed coffees will be a good choice.
If you love juicy sweetness and layered aromatics, naturals are worth exploring. And if you like the balanced taste, sweet but not overwhelming, you can try honey-processed beans first.
No style is inherently superior. Understanding the differences just helps you spend your money on beans you'll actually enjoy.
